Adriano Galliani maintains faith in Massimiliano Allegri

AC Milan coach Massimilano Allegri's job is safe for now despite a poor start to the season, according to vice-president Adriano Galliani.

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has insisted that Massimiliano Allegri's job is safe at the San Siro, despite a poor start to the season which has them languishing in mid-table.

The Rossoneri slipped to their fifth defeat in 11 league games last weekend, with Galliani spotted leaving their 2-0 defeat to Fiorentina early, fuelling speculation over Allegri's position as coach.

"There is faith in Allegri, he is not the problem," Football Italia quotes him as saying.

"All coaches depend on results, but this is not a decisive week for him. If someone keeps losing, then there is no-one who can survive that.

"This is certainly a difficult moment because we are not picking up results, but we will carry on. From experience I say that we should remain calm."

Allegri's attention must now turn to the Champions League and a trip to Camp Nou, where Group H leaders Barcelona await on Wednesday night.
