Massimiliano Allegri demands AC Milan response

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri insists that he can turn things round at the San Siro despite a poor start to the season.

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has admitted that he can understand unrest among Rossoneri fans following last night's 2-0 home defeat to Fiorentina, while insisting that his players are capable of a swift response.

Allegri's side have taken just 12 points from their first 11 games in Serie A, losing five matches to spark a protest over the club's lack of transfer activity during the summer at the San Siro last night.

Despite their poor start to the campaign, Allegri has declared that Milan's transfer policy should not be under scrutiny, blaming a three-match winless run on injuries and individual errors.

He told Sky Sport Italia: "It's not an issue of the transfer strategy, it's that we suffered a lot of injuries. I thought we had found the way after Udinese and Barcelona, but with Parma, Lazio and above all this evening we seem to have lost it again.

"Right now things are going badly, we have only 12 points. I am the coach and one way or another I'll find the solution to this.

"Are the players still behind me? The players shouldn't be behind me, they should be behind each other and work together as a team. It's my job to indicate them in the right direction."

Allegri also revealed that Milan have decided to begin preparations for Tuesday night's Champions League clash with Barcelona immediately, staying together in a training camp from this afternoon.
