AC Ajaccio remain in the Ligue 1 relegation zone after drawing 1-1 with Lyon on Sunday.
It was the home side who started the stronger, but it took until 22 minutes for the first real attempt of the match, and it came to Lyon when Maxime Gonalons struck high after smart work from Jeremy Pied.
Lyon again came close after 25 minutes with an effort from Gueida Fofana, but Guillermo Ochoa pushed the ball to safety.
Ajaccio were not without their chances, however, and Eduardo Ribeiro fired wide with 31 minutes on the clock.
The best chance of the opening period fell to Lyon in the shape of Bakari Kone, but he could only head wide from a Yoann Gourcuff corner.
Lyon were reduced to 10 men after 50 minutes when Gourcuff was given his marching orders, but they moved ahead moments later with a powerful header from Bafetimbi Gomis.
Ajaccio were back on level terms after 59 minutes, however, when Ribeiro converted a penalty after Cris had felled Fousseni Diawara in the area.
Gomis might have moved the away side back into the lead after 63 minutes, but his strike was pushed away by Ochoa.
Fofana came close to winning it late on for Lyon, but it wasn't to be, as they shared the points.
