Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain confident of Bayern Munich upset

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain refuses to believe that Arsenal's trip to Bayern Munich in the Champions League tonight is a mere formality for the reigning champions.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is refusing to believe that Arsenal's trip to Bayern Munich in the Champions League tonight is a mere formality for the reigning champions.

Pep Guardiola's men boast a two-goal aggregate lead heading into the second leg of their last-16 clash at the Allianz Arena after winning 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium last month.

However, the Gunners faced the same deficit ahead of meeting the German giants in Munich last year, only to win 2-0 on the night and exit the tournament on away goals.

Consequently, the England international is optimistic that the North Londoners can go one better this time around and progress to the quarter-final stage.

"Last season we went there 3-1 down and everyone wrote us off but we managed to get a good 2-0 win there," he told the club's official website. "We'll be feeling we can take something from that and in football a lot of things can happen.

"There is a 100% chance we can do it. We are a top side, they will know the job's not done and we know the job's not done."

Tonight's clash is scheduled to kick off at 7.45 pm.
