Mesut Ozil will reportedly not be part of Arsenal's squad to face Liverpool on Saturday evening because of a knee injury.

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has been ruled out of Saturday's Premier League meeting with Liverpool due to a knee injury.

The ex-Germany international was not part of the Gunners' travelling party that set off for Merseyside on Friday.

According to BBC Sport, Ozil has sustained a knee problem and will once again miss out for Arsenal, having only just recovered from a troublesome back injury.

Ozil is said to have suffered his latest setback during training a day before the match and it was soon decided that he will play no part.

Between mid-November and late December, the 30-year-old played just 20 minutes for Arsenal in all competitions.
