Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has insisted that skipper Robin van Persie is one of the best strikers in the world.

Arsene Wenger's men booked their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League following the 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday evening, courtesy of a Van Persie double.

The Dutch striker has now scored over 30 goals in 2011 and Arteta has admitted he is in awe of the 28-year-old. He said: "We all know how good he is. Robin keeps performing and scoring goals, making the difference.

"At the moment he is level with any striker in the world, his numbers are unbelievable in the past eight or nine months."

Arsenal will look to continue their fine recent league form when they host Fulham on Saturday.
