Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain aiming to start Ukraine qualifier at Wembley

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain insists that he is aiming to start England's World Cup qualifier against Ukraine on Tuesday.

Arsenal youngster Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has declared that he is aiming to start England's World Cup qualifier against Ukraine on Tuesday.

Chamberlain impressed from the start in the Three Lions' 5-0 win against Moldova to get their campaign off to flier.

The 19-year-old told The Mirror: "It would be special to face Ukraine; it's always an honour to run out at Wembley.

"I had the honour to do it in a friendly against Belgium, so to be able to do that against Ukraine in a World Cup qualifier would be really good for me."

Chamberlain also shared that he is enjoying the chance to learn from the senior players in the national squad.

He said: "I get endless advice on all sorts of things offensively and attacking from the team.

"That gives me the licence to know they are backing me and have confidence in me to let off the handbrake and do what I can do.

"It's great having senior players around me like John Terry, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard all giving advice and helping me on the way."

Roy Hodgson's side host Ukraine in their first home qualifier on the road to Brazil 2014, in a re-match from their European Championship clash in June.
