Chelsea, Arsenal fined for breaching FA rules

The FA fines Chelsea and Arsenal £40,000 and £30,000 respectively for failing to control their players in last month's fiery Premier League meeting at Stamford Bridge.

Premier League rivals Chelsea and Arsenal have been handed fines for failing to control their players during last month's fiery meeting.

The London derby boiled over when Gunners defender Gabriel Paulista allegedly kicked out at opponent Diego Costa at the end of the first half.

Gabriel was shown a red card, which has since been overturned, while Costa was in turn handed a three-game ban of his own.

Both teams have now been hit by a further punishment, with Chelsea being fined £40,000 and Arsenal £30,000 after admitting a breach of FA Rule E20, while also being warned about their future conduct.

Chelsea went on to win the match 2-0 in West London.
