Eddie Howe: 'Jack Wilshere will be massive for Bournemouth'

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe backs Jack Wilshere to find his shooting boots despite missing a glorious chance during his side's 2-2 draw with Watford.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has backed Jack Wilshere to be a "massive player" for the club despite missing a glorious chance to earn three points against Watford this afternoon.

The Arsenal loanee hit the post on two occasions as Bournemouth were pegged back twice during their 2-2 draw at Vicarage Road, the second of which came from just six yards out with the goal gaping.

Wilshere has failed to find the back of the net in the Premier League since May 2015, but Howe is confident that the England international will rediscover his shooting boots over the course of the season.

"The pleasing thing for us is that Jack's getting in goalscoring positions. With his class and his quality there's no doubt he'll be scoring goals for this team in the future," he told reporters.

"The last two games he's improved as the game has gone on. He's grown into the game. I felt that was the same today. His influence grew. And I think he's going to be a massive player for us."

Wilshere was taken off moments after his miss, meaning that he has not completed a full 90 minutes in the Premier League for more than two years.
