Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has claimed that he is keen to follow in the footsteps of Steven Gerrard in his Premier League career.
Gerrard left English football in May to begin a new stage of his career with the Los Angeles Galaxy following 17 years at Liverpool, and Ramsey believes that the former England captain is the perfect role model as he aims to become an all-round midfielder.
"I think a top-class midfielder needs to be able to tackle, get up and down the pitch, pass, create opportunities and score goals," the Welshman told Bleacher Report.
"That's why I try to do everything, that's what I judge my game on.
"If you look at someone like Steven Gerrard, he combines all of those elements. That's what I want to [emulate] so that's what I base my game on."
Only Olivier Giroud has scored more goals for Arsenal than Ramsey in the last two seasons.
