Former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie lavishes praise on Dani Ceballos following his man-of-the-match performance on his full debut for the Gunners.

Former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has hailed Dani Ceballos for his man-of-the-match performance in Saturday's 2-1 win over Burnley.

Ceballos was handed his full debut for the Gunners following his summer move from Real Madrid and made an immediate impact with two assists and more chances created than any other Arsenal player.

The Spaniard also covered more ground than anyone else on the pitch before he was taken off in the latter stages, and Van Persie was full of praise for the midfielder.

"Ceballos was the best player on the pitch by a mile. He was always creating something, I really enjoyed watching him," Van Persie told BT Sport.

"He runs a lot. He ran the most of any player on the pitch. That tells you that he's alive. He's a very positive player who is clearly having fun and every first touch was forwards."

Ceballos also had more touches and attempted more passes than any other Arsenal player during the game.
