Arsene Wenger explains reason for sending Carl Jenkinson back to West Ham

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is confident that West Ham United is the right place for Carl Jenkinson to continue his development.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that West Ham United is a good place for Carl Jenkinson to continue his development.

The 23-year-old re-joined the Hammers on a season-long loan on Tuesday following his stint at Upton Park during the 2014-15 campaign.

"He has moved because he had the confidence of West Ham," Wenger told the club's official website. "We have the emergence of Hector Bellerin, we have [Mathieu] Debuchy, we have [Calum] Chambers.

"We are a bit congested in an area where you do not find many right backs all over the world. He will continue his development with West Ham. I found that all are winners there - [West Ham] and Arsenal and Jenkinson."

Jenkinson signed for the Gunners from Charlton Athletic in 2011.
