Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that Mesut Ozil has similar qualities to those possessed by club legend Dennis Bergkamp.
Ozil, who had an inconsistent start to his Arsenal career following his 2013 move from Real Madrid, has produced 16 assists so far this season.
The German World Cup winner's latest contribution came against Bournemouth on Monday evening when he set up Gabriel Paulista's 27th-minute goal before scoring one himself in a 2-0 win at the Emirates.
When asked by reporters if Ozil is currently the best player in the Premier League, Wenger said: "Look at the numbers on the assists and they speak for him.
"Yes he reminds me of Bergkamp. Bergkamp was more of a goalscorer than him and Ozil is more about assists, but now Ozil is becoming more of a goalscorer, so they are really comparable."
Ozil is now four assists away from reaching the Premier League record set by Thierry Henry in 2002-03.
