Arsene Wenger: 'Alexis Sanchez has brought out Mesut Ozil's best form'

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger claims that Alexis Sanchez has brought out the best in Mesut Ozil since the German's return from injury in January.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that Alexis Sanchez has helped bring out the best in Mesut Ozil in the second half of the season.

The Chile international has been in impressive form throughout the season following his move from Barcelona last summer, scoring 14 times in the top flight.

Wenger feels that the play of the forward has helped the much-maligned Ozil find his best form as they have built up a good understanding since the German returned from injury in January.

"People questioned Ozil," Wenger told the club's official website. "Many people speak now about Alexis but in the first part of the season Ozil wasn't there. In the second part of the season Ozil has blossomed and is getting to where you want him to be.

"He is a player that is the centre of our game and also makes other people play. The real players are those who take the qualities of their partners - Ozil is one like that. He is naturally generous."

Arsenal face Premier League leaders Chelsea later today in their crunch clash at the Emirates Stadium.
