Arsene Wenger: 'Jack Wilshere will not change style of play'

Arsene Wenger says that Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere's dynamic style of play will not change, despite the England international facing another spell on the sidelines.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that he will not tell Jack Wilshere to change his style of play in the wake of the midfielder's latest injury setback.

The 22-year-old, who was forced off during the Gunners' 2-1 defeat against Manchester United last weekend at the Emirates Stadium, will see a specialist in order to determine the full extent of the injury.

Wenger revealed that he expects Wilshere to be "out for a while", although he says that the Englishman's dynamic style is not to blame.

"You see in the big games he has the personality," he is quoted as saying by ESPN. "It is more about his game, it shows you he is not scared to play and is ready to want to get the ball always.

"It is because he doesn't want to lose the ball, he is ready to put his body in. You cannot take that out, otherwise he will not be Jack Wilshere anymore."

Wilshere has scored once in his 16 appearances for Arsenal this season.
