There are growing fears that Jack Wilshere will not return for Arsenal this season and could miss the European Championships with England this summer.

Arsenal playmaker Jack Wilshere is reportedly certain to miss the rest of the season with another stress fracture in his ankle.

It emerged last week that the 20-year-old had suffered a blow in his recovery from an ankle injury, which has kept him out of Arsenal's campaign this term.

While boss Arsene Wenger tried to alleviate fears over the extent of the setback, it seems as though scans have revealed the injury is worse than first thought, according to the Daily Mail.

If confirmed, the Gunners midfielder may be forced to miss England's Euro 2012 campaign in the summer.

While Wilshere may make a swift comeback towards the end of the season, it is unlikely that Wenger will risk the Three Lions international.
