Arsenal transfer roundup: Eddie Nketiah deal, Hector Bellerin pushes for exit

Sports Mole rounds up the latest Arsenal transfer news, as Eddie Nketiah signs his new contract and Hector Bellerin pushes for an exit.

Arsenal have only confirmed one summer signing so far in the form of Sao Paulo starlet Marquinhos, but plenty more could walk through the Emirates doors in the coming weeks.

Bolstering the midfield and attack is high on Mikel Arteta's agenda for the coming weeks, but the club had a piece of positive internal news to share earlier this weekend.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest Arsenal transfer news, including updates on Eddie Nketiah, Hector Bellerin and Youri Tielemans.

Arsenal were due to lose three players on free transfers at the end of the season, but two of them have now committed their futures to the club, with Eddie Nketiah following Mohamed Elneny in doing so.

Nketiah ended the 2021-22 season as Arsenal's first-choice centre-forward, and the Gunners have confirmed that the 23-year-old has signed a new long-term contract in North London.

The deal is thought to be five years in length and worth as much as £100k per week, and Nketiah has also been honoured with Thierry Henry's legendary number 14 shirt.

The Englishman struck 10 goals in all competitions during the 2021-22 season and had rejected renewal offers during the season amid links with clubs in England and Germany.

Hector Bellerin pushing for exit

Wantaway right-back Hector Bellerin is said to be willing to take drastic measures in his bid to leave Arsenal after a positive loan spell at Real Betis in the 2021-22 season.

The 27-year-old won the Copa del Rey and helped Betis qualify for the group stage of the Europa League - where they could face Arsenal - with a fifth-placed finish in La Liga.

Bellerin provided five assists in 32 games for the Verdiblancos, and The Mirror claims that he is willing to give up his final year of Arsenal wages to force an exit.

However, the Gunners are refusing to terminate Bellerin's deal - which only has another 12 months left to run - and instead want a fee of £8.5m to sanction his exit.

Bellerin has racked up over 200 appearances for Arsenal since joining as a youth player in 2011 and has won three FA Cups in that time.

Youri Tielemans boost

While Fabio Vieira's arrival from Porto should be officially announced any day now, the Gunners have not stopped pursuing Leicester City's Youri Tielemans.

However, journalist Rob Dorsett had recently claimed that Arsenal's interest in the 25-year-old had cooled, and he could therefore sign a new one-year deal at the King Power.

Now, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano states that Tielemans has no intention of extending his Leicester deal, which only has another 12 months left to run.

The Foxes could therefore be forced to accept a cut-price fee for Tielemans this summer, handing Arsenal a major boost in their efforts to acquire the Belgian.
