A report claims that Arsenal face a tough battle to sign Nicolo Barella from Cagliari as the £27m-rated midfielder is also still a target for Chelsea and Napoli.

Arsenal must reportedly see off competition from a number of sides if they are to sign Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella in the summer.

The Italy international, who was on the scoresheet against Finland on Saturday evening, is believed to have been identified as a possible replacement for Juventus-bound Aaron Ramsey.

Chelsea missed out on Barella's signature in the January window as Cagliari were reluctant to sell midway through the season, though an offer of around £27m will likely be enough to prise him away.

As well as having to persuade Cagliari to cash in, The Mirror claims that Arsenal must also fight off Chelsea and Napoli for the 22-year-old.

Barella has featured close to 100 times in Serie A for Cagliari across his four seasons in their senior ranks.
