Arsenal are allegedly ahead of their rivals in the race to secure the signature of Chelsea winger Willian on a free transfer.

Arsenal are allegedly regarded as the current favourites to secure a deal for Chelsea winger Willian.

With the Blues and the playmaker having failed to agree terms over a fresh contract, the Brazilian is expected to leave Stamford Bridge on a free transfer later in 2020.

Although the 31-year-old has a close affinity to Chelsea, journalist Jorge Nicola has suggested that the Gunners are the frontrunners for his signature.

Nicola told ESPN: "Arsenal are a little ahead today, but everything is still open."

Willian has previously indicated that he and his family are settled in London - a reason behind his demands for a three-year deal.

Liverpool are also said to be monitoring the situation ahead of the next window.
