Arsene Wenger defends Arsenal transfer policy

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger states that he is "happy" with the transfer business that he has done this summer.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that he is "happy" with the transfer business that he has conducted this summer.

The Gunners made just one signing with the arrival of goalkeeper Petr Cech, meaning that they are the only club in any of Europe's top five leagues to have not purchased a senior outfield player during the transfer window.

Arsenal were linked with the likes of Karim Benzema and Edinson Cavani, but Wenger has insisted that it is not a simple process to bring big names to the Emirates Stadium.

"It's not the money that's missing at the moment, it's not the desire of investment that is missing, it's the number of players available who can strengthen the big clubs," he told The Mirror.

"The problem at the moment is finding the players that guarantees you are a better team after.

"So am I happy with the investment I make? Yes, every time. I bought Sanchez, I bought Ozil, I bought Cech, I bought Gabriel last year."

Cech cost Arsenal £11m when he signed from Chelsea.
