Inter Milan reportedly enter the race to sign Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer, with the striker yet to agree a new contract at the Emirates.

Inter Milan have reportedly entered the race to sign Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer.

The 30-year-old's future at the Emirates Stadium has become a topic of increasing debate with his contract due to expire next year and no extension yet in sight.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has made no secret of his desire to keep Aubameyang at the club, but if no new deal is agreed then the Gunners could consider cashing in on their star striker this summer rather than risk losing him on a free transfer in 2021.

Barcelona have previously been linked with the Gabon international, and Calciomercato now claims that Inter Milan are also monitoring the situation ahead of a possible move when the transfer window reopens.

Aubameyang previously spent four years in Milan from 2007 to 2011 while an AC Milan player, although he never made a first-team appearance for Inter's city rivals.

The prospect of Champions League football is thought to appeal to the player, with Arsenal currently set to miss out on European football altogether next season.

Aubameyang has scored 20 goals in 32 appearances for the Gunners so far this season and has 61 goals in just 97 outings since joining the club.
