Marseille president Pablo Longoria confirms that Matteo Guendouzi will join the club on a permanent deal from Arsenal this summer.

Matteo Guendouzi will officially join Marseille from Arsenal on a permanent deal at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old lost the trust of Mikel Arteta following disciplinary issues and was shipped out on loan to Jorge Sampaoli's side - initially on loan - after being frozen out of the Arsenal squad.

Guendouzi has since become an integral cog of the Marseille XI during their challenge for Champions League football, registering three goals and 11 assists in all tournaments this term.

Given that Guendouzi has now made 38 appearances for Les Olympiens, president Pablo Longoria confirmed to RMC Sport that the buy clause for the midfielder has been triggered.

Guendouzi will pen a permanent deal with the French side until the summer of 2025 and will return to his homeland permanently four years after leaving Lorient for Arsenal.

The ex-Paris Saint-Germain starlet leaves Arsenal after scoring once and providing five assists for the club in 82 matches since being signed by Unai Emery.
