David Miles: Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez contract talks "looking pretty good"

Arsenal's general secretary David Miles suggests that the club have held positive negotiations over new deals with the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Arsenal's general secretary David Miles has indicated that the Gunners have held positive contract talks with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

The club's two star players have less than two years to run on their existing deals, a stance which has come in for criticism from the North London outfit's supporters.

However, Miles has suggested that everything is being done in order to tie down both players to long-term contacts at the Emirates Stadium as the Gunners look to mount a Premier League title bid.

He told BT Sport: "Of course, we know talks are ongoing with certain players and certain contracts. At the moment, things are looking pretty good in that way."

On Monday, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry called on his former team to agree fresh terms with the duo at the earliest opportunity.
