Lukas Podolski: 'Arsenal exit unlikely'

Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski insists that he is focused on a long-term future in North London, despite reported interest from Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has admitted that he is flattered to be linked with Atletico Madrid but is focused on a future with the Gunners.

Podolski has scored 13 times in all competitions in his debut season at Arsenal, but has not completed 90 minutes since January.

Despite reported interest from Atletico and Juventus, the German forward believes that London is the best place to continue his career at this stage.

The Sun quotes him as saying as saying: "Firstly, I cannot help it that clubs are interested in me.

"Secondly any interest makes me proud because it is a recognition of my performance.

"It is unlikely I will leave because, at the club and in the town, I feel really comfortable."

The 27-year-old is currently on international duty and will win his 109th cap if he plays for Germany against Kazakhstan tonight.
