Report: Arsenal join race for Schalke 04's Leon Goretzka

A report claims that Schalke 04 midfielder Leon Goretzka is wanted by Arsenal, who could rival Manchester City and Liverpool for his signature next year.

Arsenal have become the latest Premier League side to show an interest in Schalke 04 midfielder Leon Goretzka, according to a report.

The 22-year-old remained at the Veltins-Arena in the summer, despite being linked with a number of high-profile clubs around Europe.

Barcelona and Bayern Munich were both touted as possible destinations at one stage for the Germany international, who will become a free agent at the end of the campaign.

Goretzka was also said to have been on the radar of Manchester City and Liverpool, and German publication Bild suggests that a third English side have now joined the race to sign him.

Arsenal are also rumoured to be eyeing up Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder Julian Draxler, an international teammate of Goretzka's.
