Liverpool's Daniel Agger nears Barcelona switch?

A Spanish report claims that Daniel Agger is on the verge of joining Barcelona from Liverpool for £12m.

Daniel Agger's proposed move from Liverpool to Barcelona has reportedly edged a step closer to completion.

The Danish centre-back has been linked with a switch to the Camp Nou on a regular basis over the last two years, but so far, the transfer has not been finalised.

However, following the arrival of defender Dejan Lovren from Southampton at Anfield, negotiations between Liverpool and Barca regarding 29-year-old Agger are at an advanced stage, according to Sport.

Should the deal be concluded, the report adds that Liverpool would receive £12m for Agger, who joined them for £6m from Brondby in 2006.
