Report: Arsenal to make loan bid for striker Alvaro Morata

Alvaro Morata is a target for Arsenal as Arsene Wenger looks to make additions to his squad during the transfer window, a report claims.

Arsenal are trying to finalise a season-long loan move for Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata, according to a report.

The striker is on Arsene Wenger's wishlist as he attempts to sustain the club's title challenge with a mounting injury list.

Theo Walcott and Nicklas Bendtner are both likely to spend significant time on the treatment table, and Morata is seen as an ideal signing, the Daily Mail reports.

The newspaper says that should the deal fail to materialise, Wenger has other targets in mind, including Mario Mandzukic, Edin Dzeko and Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.

In December, a report said that Madrid were unwilling to let Morata leave on loan.
