Report: European clubs battle to take Salomon Kalou from Lille

Lille reportedly face a battle to keep Salomon Kalou as a number of European clubs join the race to sign the Ivorian.

A number of clubs from across Europe have reportedly joined the race to sign Lille forward Salomon Kalou this summer.

Kalou has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 side in recent months, with Arsenal believed to be leading contenders for his signature before a loan bid was rejected in January.

According to Sky Sports News, the Gunners are still eager to secure the former Chelsea forward's services as the club look to add to their attacking options ahead of next season.

However, Arsenal could face competition as Liverpool, Galatasaray, Monaco, Roma and Atletico Madrid are all reported to hold an interest in the 28-year-old.

Any proposed move may have to wait until after Kalou has competed at the World Cup with Ivory Coast.
