Thomas Partey 'demanding £200,000-per-week at Arsenal'

Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey reportedly tells Arsenal that he wants £200,000 per week in order to move to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have reportedly been told that it will take a contract worth £200,000 per week to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.

With the Ghana international possessing a £45m release clause, the Gunners are one of a number of teams who have been linked with the versatile player.

However, given the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic, Arsenal are said to be prefer including at least one player in a part-exchange deal.

While that remains a possibility, The Athletic claims that the 27-year-old is demanding £200,000 per week in order to move to the Emirates Stadium.

Unless they are able to part ways with Mesut Ozil, the Premier League outfit will realistically have to reconsider their options if Thomas maintains his stance over wages.

Arsenal are already said to be close to agreeing lucrative deals with Willian and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
