Arsenal forward Robin van Persie has reportedly been omitted from the Arsenal squad for the club's pre-season tour.
Van Persie's future at the Emirates Stadium is believed to be a short one, following the 28-year-old's admission that he has no intention of extending his current contract, which expires in 12 months.
Despite this, the player is said to have told manager Arsene Wenger that he wished to travel to China and South-East Asia with the rest of the squad.
However, the Frenchman has ruled that it would be best if Van Persie remained in England, according to The Mirror.
Manchester United have already lodged an unsuccessful bid for Van Persie during the current transfer window.
