Besiktas reportedly open talks with Danny Welbeck's representatives over a possible move from Arsenal.

Besiktas have reportedly made progress in their pursuit of Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck.

The Turkish club are believed to be hunting for a new attacking player after selling Cenk Tosun to Everton for around £27m.

According to Fanatik, Besiktas officials have opened talks with Welbeck's camp regarding a transfer that could potentially be agreed before the end of the month.

Welbeck has been plagued by injuries since moving to Arsenal from Manchester United in 2014, and this season, the forward has struggled for game time.

In fact, the 27-year-old has started just seven Premier League games, and in total has featured 22 times in all competitions, scoring five goals.

The forward's contract at the Emirates expires in 2019.
