Arsene Wenger may spend in January to ease defensive injury crisis

Arsene Wenger admits that Arsenal may need to spend in January after Laurent Koscielny's latest injury setback left them short in defence.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that his side needs defensive cover ahead of the January transfer window.

The Gunners have suffered a defensive injury crisis this season and may move to sign an extra centre-back next month after the setback to Laurent Koscielny.

Wenger told BBC Sport: "Well, yes with Laurent Koscielny's injury we're a bit cautious and we need cover."

Arsenal are believed to be tracking Ipswich Town defender Tyrone Mings and are reportedly weighing up a move for the 21-year-old in the New Year.
