Arsene Wenger: 'Gabriel Paulista deal almost done'

Arsene Wenger confirms that Arsenal will sign Villarreal defender Gabriel Paulista in the next 24 hours.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he expects to complete the signing of Villarreal defender Gabriel Paulista in the next 24 hours.

It was recently reported that the two clubs had agreed a fee of around £11m for the 24-year-old Brazilian.

Gunners striker Joel Campbell is expected to move in the opposite direction on loan as part of the deal.

When asked about the move following his side's 3-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup fourth round, Wenger told reporters: "It's on the line. It will get over the line tonight and tomorrow."

Arsenal are back in action next Sunday when they host Aston Villa in the Premier League.
