Aston Villa had the majority of the play but were unable to take advantage in the first half against Bolton Wanderers this evening.
Villa had a chance to open the scoring in just the first minute when Chris Herd was left unmarked at a corner but headed his effort over from six yards.
Emile Heskey and Andres Weimann then wasted further good chances as the home side made all of the running early on.
Stephen Warnock then smashed the crossbar with an effort from outside the area as Alex McLeish's men continued to search for the opening goal.
