Ashley Westwood wants Aston Villa to push on after international break

Ashley Westwood is hopeful that Aston Villa can build on their victory against Cardiff City when the international break is over.

Aston Villa midfielder Ashley Westwood is hopeful that the Midlands outfit can build on last weekend's win after the international break.

Paul Lambert's men ended their goal drought in the Premier League against Cardiff City by hitting two past the Welsh side at Villa Park.

"We needed a big win at home and another clean sheet is always nice," Westwood told the club's official website. "We've scored the goals so we've got that off our backs now. We've got a nice break so we can hopefully get everyone fit and hopefully go again."

Villa are due to take on West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on November 25.
