Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has revealed that the club are in talks with Christian Benteke over a new contract.
The Belgian has impressed during his first season in the Midlands by scoring 23 goals in all competitions.
The 22-year-old, who has three years left on his current deal, is now understood to have been offered improved terms.
"We have been speaking for the last few weeks there so we will see what happens," the Birmingham Mail quotes Lambert as saying.
Villa finished their Premier League campaign on Sunday with a 2-2 draw at Wigan Athletic.
