Report: Diego Simeone to make late Diego Costa call

Reports in Spain claim that Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone still hopes to have Diego Costa fit for tonight's La Liga clash with Malaga.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone will reportedly give Diego Costa every chance to be fit for tonight's La Liga clash with Malaga at the Vicente Calderon.

The Brazilian-born Spanish international had widely been expected to miss the key league fixture with a troublesome groin injury.

However, the forward trained alongside his teammates on Saturday, fuelling suggestions that he could yet make the match in the Spanish capital.

According to reports in Spain, Simeone will leave it until the final moment before deciding whether his leading scorer will feature.

Atletico will be without key centre-back Diego Godin, however, who is suspended.
