Atletico Madrid will reportedly launch an approach for Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno this month.
The La Liga side, who have enjoyed a very busy transfer window, are said to be determined to add one more attacking player to their ranks before the transfer deadline.
Reports have suggested that Atletico are pursuing the signature of James Rodriguez, with the Colombian surplus to requirements under Zinedine Zidane having spent two years on loan at Bayern Munich.
According to Marca, while Atletico's priority remains securing the signature of Rodriguez, they have identified Rodrigo as a cheaper option.
Atletico have spent a remarkable £225m on transfers this summer, completing deals for Joao Felix, Marcos Llorente, Felipe, Mario Hermoso, Renan Lodi, Ivan Saponjic, Hector Herrera and Kieran Trippier.
Rodrigo struggled for Valencia last season, managing only eight league goals in 33 appearances.
