Sergio Busquets: 'Manchester City were great in second half'

Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets admits that his team struggled in the second half of Tuesday's 3-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League.

Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has admitted that his team were second best to Manchester City in the second half of Tuesday's Champions League clash at the Etihad Stadium.

Lionel Messi sent the Spanish giants into a 21st-minute lead in Manchester, but it was 1-1 at half time courtesy of a close-range finish from Ilkay Gundogan six minutes before the interval.

Man City then scored twice in the second half through Kevin De Bruyne and Gundogan to secure all the points in a 3-1 victory, and Busquets has claimed that missing opportunities to score a second in the first period cost his team.

"We knew it would be tough. During the first half we missed chances and they were great in the second. That's the Champions League," Busquets told reporters.

Barcelona, who now face a tough trip to Sevilla in La Liga at the weekend, remain top of Group C on nine points, two points ahead of second-placed Man City with two games left.
