Brazil rule out Neymar appeal after four-match ban in Copa America

The Brazilian Football Confederation will not appeal Neymar's four-match ban which rules him out of the remainder of the Copa America.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) have ruled out appealing Neymar's four-match ban which would see him miss the remainder of the Copa America.

The Barcelona forward was sent off at the end of Brazil's group-stage match against Colombia after appearing to headbutt Jeison Murillo.

Despite Neymar's absence, Brazil qualified for the quarter-finals after a 2-1 victory over Venezuela.

"During a meeting on Sunday night between Neymar and the technical management, it was decided that the CBF would respect CONMEBOL's decision," said a CBF statement.

"Neymar is set to leave the Brazilian national football team headquarters this morning in Santiago de Chile."

Brazil will play Paraguay on Saturday for a place in the semi-finals.
