Luis Enrique plays down whistles from Barcelona fans

Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique insists that his focus remains on the team after being greeted by whistles from his own fans in the 5-0 win over Elche.

Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique has played down the mixed reception he received from the fans before his side thrashed Elche 5-0 at Camp Nou.

There were whistles when the stadium announcer read out Enrique's name, but he insists that he is only concentrating on the team's performances after reports suggested that he had fallen out with Lionel Messi in a difficult week for the club.

"The main thing is that the fans support the players," the Spaniard told reporters after the first leg of the Copa del Rey last-16 tie.

"The team played very well, we were intense and fast on the attack. We didn't give any chances to the opponent and the attitude of the players was great.

"The fans can surely be happy with the attitude of the players. We played well but we know we can improve even further as well."

Barcelona return to action against Atletico Madrid in La Liga on Sunday evening.
