Jordi Alba: 'I can't take credit for comeback win'

Jordi Alba insists that he was just "working for the team" after scoring a dramatic late winner in Barcelona's 2-1 victory over Almeria.

Barcelona defender Jordi Alba has refused to take the credit for Barcelona's 2-1 comeback victory over Almeria this afternoon, despite scoring the winner eight minutes from time.

Almeria had led through Thievy Bifouma, before late goals from Neymar and Alba rescued three points for the Catalan side.

"I was working for the team. Almeria were better in the first half. In the second we went for it, we created chances and got the result. I was just trying to have a good game," Alba told reporters at full time.

"The game unfolded like it did against Celta. There was more of the same, lots of one-twos and shots at goal, but we improved defensively, and offensively we created many chances.

"In the first half, they were superior and we didn't move the ball well enough. We were caught out and put in difficulty, so I think the win is important."

The result moves Barcelona to the top of La Liga, one point ahead of rivals Real Madrid, who face Rayo Vallecano this evening.
