Neymar reveals Lionel Messi absence plans

Brazilian forward Neymar says that he and Cesc Fabregas will share the task of replacing Lionel Messi in Barcelona XI while the Argentine is on the sidelines.

Neymar has revealed that he and Cesc Fabregas will be given the task of taking on Lionel Messi's role in the Barcelona XI while the Argentine is on the sidelines.

Messi will be out of action for two months with a hamstring injury, but Neymar has claimed that coach Gerardo Martino has been preparing for his absence.

"Messi is a '10', a weapon that can break the opposition defence," Neymar told Revista da Internet.

"This function is being trusted with me and Cesc, we are always working on the hypothesis of a possible absence for Messi and so that this type of situation can be tackled less traumatically."

Neymar has mainly operated on the left of a three-pronged attack for Barcelona this season.
