Sergi Roberto could reportedly sign a two-year contract extension with Barcelona in the near future.
The 29-year-old has made 297 appearances for the Catalan giants in all competitions, although he has only featured on 13 occasions during the 2020-21 campaign due to injury.
Roberto's existing deal with Ronald Koeman's side is due to expire in June 2022, leading to suggestions that he may be on the move in one of the upcoming transfer windows.
However, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Spain international could extend his contract with Barca for another two years until the summer of 2024.
Romano claims that there has not yet been an agreement between the two parties, although the La Liga outfit are seemingly determined to keep hold of the Spaniard.
Roberto has largely operated as a central midfielder during his professional career but has also regularly been used as a right-back by Barca.
