Gonzalo Castro: 'Paris Saint-Germain too good'

Gonzalo Castro admits that Bayer Leverkusen were outclassed by Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Gonzalo Castro has admitted that Paris Saint-Germain were in complete control in their 4-0 Champions League last-16 win in Germany on Tuesday night.

Castro said that Bayer have a long way to go in order to be able to compete with Europe's big clubs and that their limitations showed badly in the heavy defeat.

"PSG showed us our limitations and did so for the entire 90 minutes," UEFA.com quotes Castro as saying. "We conceded an early goal and already our hopes were fading away. If you are down 3-0 at half time, the game is basically over.

"We tried everything but were never really able to face the challenges and win them. They simply took our system apart. We just have to admit we have not yet reached Paris's level, by a long way."

Leverkusen are second in the Bundesliga, 16 points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
