Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has said that he is content with his side's 1-0 victory over Benfica in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final this evening.
Many expected the German champions to run out more comfortable winners at the Allianz Arena, but having taken the lead after just two minutes through Arturo Vidal, Bayern failed to find another way past their visitors.
However, Alaba insists that the main thing was to pick up the victory to take into the second leg, and is happy to have done that.
"Altogether we were solid defensively. It's good to keep collecting clean sheet," he told reporters.
"We wanted to win the game and that's what we have done. We kept Benfica out, so it's a good performance for us."
Bayern will travel to Lisbon for the second leg next Wednesday.
