Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has lamented his side's inability to take their chances against BATE Borisov in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The German giants lost 3-1 to the Belarusian champions at the Dinamo Stadion in Minsk, thanks to goals from Alexander Pavlov, Vitali Rodionov and Renan Bressan.

"You simply have to take the lead in games like this, for instance with the big chance Toni Kroos had," said Heynckes. "Immediately they scored.

"I don't know how much possession we had and there was only a short spell after the break where we didn't have them under pressure.

"Their best player was the goalkeeper [Andrei Gorbunov], so that tells you how much pressure we created. Then there is [Franck] Ribery's shot against the bar, so we have had some bad luck as well. One thing added to another and in the end you have to accept their win."

The defeat leaves Bayern second in Group F with three points from two matches.
