Ilkay Gundogan has declared that Borussia Dortmund are the only side capable of hurting Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich at domestic level, ahead of a crunch clash between the two teams this weekend.
Dortmund trail Bayern by four points heading into Saturday's top-of-the-table showdown at Signal Iduna Park, with Pep Guardiola's side enjoying a record-breaking 37 match unbeaten run in the Bundesliga.
He told Kicker: "They are the toughest side in Germany and possibly all Europe.
"But we showed in the Champions League final and in the Super Cup at the end of July that we are probably the only team around right now who can cause Bayern problems.
"I'm very, very impatient. It hurts to have to watch for so long, but it's going to take a bit of time yet."
The 23-year-old has been restricted to just one appearance so far this season following a setback from rehabilitation on a stress fracture in his back.
