Real Betis see off Levante

Real Betis score two unanswered goals against Levante to go fourth in the La Liga table.

Arsenal loanee Joel Campbell was among the goals as Real Betis recorded a 2-0 victory from their home encounter against Levante this afternoon.

It took the Costa Rican international just seven minutes to break the deadlock at the Benito Villamarin. Ruben Castro picked out the winger unmarked inside the penalty area and Campbell in turn found the bottom corner of the net.

Campbell had another chance moments later, but he shot over from the edge of the area.

As the half developed, visiting Levante began to claim a foothold in the match, but they were unable to create a clear goalscoring chance before the half-time whistle was blown.

Following an even start to the second half, Betis put the game beyond Levante's reach just after the hour mark when Castro curled the ball into the net from 18 yards out.

Levante continued to attack in search of a route back into the encounter, but their quest was unsuccessful.
