Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett hails the significance of his side's 2-0 win over Brentford.

Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett has declared that his side's 2-0 victory at Brentford in the Championship has given them their identity back.

The Blues ended a run of two straight defeats in all competitions at Griffin Park with goals from Michael Morrison and Clayton Donaldson

"We got back to our identity tonight after beating Brentford 2-0. We were solid and we dominated the second half," BBC Sport quotes Rowett as saying.

The win lifts Birmingham up to fifth place in the Championship.
